Now, I can devour a couple hundred pages of fiction in one evening without blinking an eye. (Obviously that's not literal. The average human blinks close to a thousand times an hour.) My point is, a few hundred pages of fiction is totally different than even a couple dozen pages of nonfiction in teensy print with a zillion footnotes.
For a visual, here's one of my text books with a standard tube of chap stick.
It might not look like much, but there are 8 other books living on the desk with it and hundreds of pages of online and "extra" reading material.
All that being said, I decided for the summer, I'm going to need to adopt a serious approach to time management. How else will I get all the reading completed, assignments and papers written, house cleaned, Sunday school lessons planned, turn in enough freelancing to help pay the bills and still find time for my family, friends and sanity?
I got a new planner and started writing in all my assignments, plans, chores, need-to-dos and would-like-to-dos.
One of my classes this subterm is Church Administration and Leadership. Ultimately, it's an admin and project management type course with an emphasis on a ministry setting. The good news is that I've got a ton of business project management experience that will transfer to this class. The bad news is that the first week's lesson is titled "Organization and Time Management".
Actually, that was good news. It sort of offered hope for kicking my summer off on the right foot. However, as I attempted to complete my first assignment, I ran into a snag. I'm supposed to use two text books and some other materials to complete a notebook exercise with questions on time management. Guess what? I can't find that section in the books. I've been through twice.
And I really have to wonder...
Is it not there...or am I just so far gone that I don't even recognize it?
